FILM FESTIVAL CAN BEGIN!

During the five festival evenings , from 20th to 25th August, will be shown 10 achievements of local cinema, and Meetings will be opened by the film “Miris kise na Balkanu” by Ljubisa Samardzic. After achievements, the audience will see first day film “Zduhac znaci avantura” by Milorad Milenkovic. The next days will be shown and films “Beli, beli svet”, “Beli lavovi”, “Montevideo Bog te video”, “Sisanje” “Neprijatelj”, “Sestre”, “Kakos u me ukrali Nemci”, “Zajedno”, “Cinema komunisto”. At the Summer stage, in front of citizens from youth, and as he said by himself, always and everywhere man from Nis, Ljubisa Samardzic, Serbian acting bard, mark its jubilee 50 years or artistic work. Expect ours actors and actresses Festival will this year host and actor from England, Douglas Henshall , one of the main protagonists of the film “How the Germans stole me”, which will have its Serbian premiere in Nis.   

The Festival traditionally opens the president of the jury handing over the keys of the city with the sentence: “Fellow actors, the Fortress is our”. During the parade will be presented with awards for outstanding contribution to film – “ Pavle Vuisic”. The laureate, the actor Petar Bozovic, was chosen by the previous winners of the award – Mira Banjac, Bogdan Diklic and Neda Arneric, who will also receive recognition at the Festival, because it was prevented from attending the ceremony last year. The award “She and he” went to a couple in the series “Selo gori, a baba se ceslja” to Rados Bajic and Ljiljana Stepanovic.

Actors are expected as early as Saturday. First, they will visit the Mayor of Nis in City Hall, and then procession with the artistic director Dragan Vujkic and president of the Festival Council, Prof. Dr. Igor Novakovic, and director of Festival of NCC, Srdjan Savic to Summer Stage.
Art Director Dragan Vujic Vujke is satisfied with response of colleagues: Although it is the holiday season, all the actors are either already in Nis, or arrive today and the next days. This is our city, this is our festival, and here we cast our host citizens of Nis one breathe deeply, speak the same language and understand best. Film festival Council President Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, at the meeting of the Council reminded journalists of the fact that the Festival of actor`s achievements is definitely the most important cultural event in our county. This Festival of the seventh art also cost the most: 22 million RSD, as it was planned to be invested, City of Nis has provided 14 million RSD, million RSD allocated the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, which is not enough, but we believe that it will allocate over the next few days. Others are donated by sponsors.

This year the following programs enrich the Festival. In addition to the opening of the Cinema – regions in the Home of Army, and a series of exhibitions will be “Yu – press photo” (Pavilion of the Fortress), “Applause, which last” by Jovan Surdilovic (European House), “Century of Film” (NCC). In adition to monographs on Neda Arneric will be promoted the book “Alphabet of Alexander Petrovic” (Film Yu – present) and “Split screen” by Branislav Miltojevic (Film Center of Serbia) and the round table “in the animated film actor”. The legendary actor will be partying in bars “Nis` tavern” and “My place”, while the older actors generally opt for coffee in the “Ambassador”

Apart from the protagonist of the films in Nis in the coming days will stay and more directors, screenwriters and set designers, project associates who are in competition for prizes, as well as those currently being filmed.
